The comic below (sorry, I’m too lazy to try typing that screen name) reminded me of a story from living in WI.
Guy in town owned a corner lot with something like a dozen 100' Maple trees. At least half of them in the reasonably sized front yard and side footage along the street. Before they even started changing colors he had tall snow fencing in place. Once the spectacle began people would wander over with lawn chairs to watch him and his family attempt to deal with knee deeps leaves every single day. Every Single Day... for better than a month straight . Let me tell you the ways they facilitated getting rid of them were quite worth pulling up a chair and supply of adult beverages for . As was the show of him attacking people using his misery for their own entertainment.

IME it isn’t the leaves so much as the sticks mixed in with them that elicit streams of expletives. That and leaf blowers running for hours straight tends to annoy people.
